FEDA’s team has over 50 years of combined experience in private equity
Ms. Ngoyi, who is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has over 20 years of experience. She has worked with social enterprises, private companies, public-private partnerships, and governments across Africa to raise multi-billion-dollar debt, bonds, equity, quasi-equity, and foreign direct investment via bank syndication, capital markets, or private equity transactions to finance strategic investments.
Ms. Ngoyi has also served as the CEO of BGFI Investment Banking, where she led the company in raising more than US$4 billion of capital and foreign direct investment for private and sovereign clients. Additionally, Ms Ngoyi was CEO of a commercial bank in the DRC for two years, leading a financial turnaround of the business by restoring its financial profitability.
Ms. Ngoyi graduated magna cum laude from Bentley University with a B.Sc. in Economics and Finance, and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Emmanuel Assiak joined FEDA in 2019 as a Director, where he has played a pioneering role in establishing and operationalising the organization. This work has included the implementation of required service infrastructure (people, processes and systems) and leading the execution of FEDA’s first four equity deals and commitments in other strategic investments and partnerships – amounting to about USD300 million. Mr. Assiak has three decades of experience in financial services spanning banking and private equity. In his over 15 years of private equity experience, Mr. Assiak has played active roles in raising and deploying over USD1.5 billion in funds and equity transactions.
Mr. Assiak holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in Economics from the University of Cross River State and the University of Lagos, Nigeria respectively. He also holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. He is a Certified Accountant and an alumnus of the Coller Institute of Private Equity, London Business School, United Kingdom.
Yann has over seventeen years of financial services experience including involvement in private equity, M&A advisory and investment banking. Prior to joining FEDA, Yann was a Principal and founding member of Africa Capitalworks, the Sub-Saharan Africa focused fund of the Capitalworks Group. At ACW, Yann’s role covered all aspects of the private equity lifecycle, including fund set-up, fundraising, deal origination, leading deal execution and portfolio management.
Prior to joining Africa Capitalworks, Yann was an investment professional at Helios Investment Partners LLP where he was involved in a number of transactions and portfolio management across the continent, spanning multiple sectors.
Yann started his career at Deutsche Bank in London in M&A, focused on the Natural Resources sector. Yann holds an Msc in Management from Neoma Business School in Reims, France.
Gaisie Yao has ten years of experience in Private Equity and M&A – both on African and international deals.
Prior to joining FEDA, Yao worked at Emerging Capital Partners, a leading Private Equity firm in Africa, where he focused on investment in Energy, Education, and the Banking sector. Gaisie also has M&A experience with both Oddo BHF and Wagram Corporate Finance, two French M&A boutiques based in Paris.
Gaisie holds an MSc in Finance from EMLYON Business School (France) and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic National Institute (Côte d’Ivoire).
Abdillahi has over ten years of experience in corporate finance with a focus on private equity in East Africa. Prior to joining FEDA, Abdillahi worked at Ascent Capital and was involved in the origination and execution of private equity transactions in East Africa as well as portfolio management. Prior to Ascent Capital, Abdillahi worked at Standard Chartered Bank in the Financial Markets division in Tanzania – involved in sales, trading and asset/liability management.
Abdillahi holds a double Masters degree in Corporate Finance & Banking from EDHEC Business School (France) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Exeter (UK).
Peter has over ten years’ experience working in the investments industry in various capacities. Prior to joining FEDA, he worked for a boutique advisory firm specialising in transaction advisory and capital raising services in the East African region. Before that, Peter worked as an investment dealer in Stanlib Kenya, where he specialised in the execution of investment transactions in both the capital markets and alternative asset classes.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Strathmore University in Kenya and is a member of the institute of certified investments and financial analysts (Kenya), as well as the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.
Damilare has over ten years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on audit, financial reporting, financial planning, treasury and financial management.
Prior to Joining FEDA, Damilare worked as a Finance Manager at African Capital Alliance (ACA). At ACA, she managed the finance, audits and operations of multiple funds across various sectors including Oil & gas, FMCG, Financial Services, Real Estate and Telecommunications.
Damilare started her career at KPMG Nigeria, where she participated in and led audits and assurance engagements of various clients within the financial services space.
Damilare holds a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. She also holds a diploma in IFRS (ACCA, DipIFR) and is a CFA level III candidate.
Alixie Sebeza has ten years’ experience in Executive Office Administration, Project Management, Business Development, Stakeholder Relations Management, and leadership, acquired through various roles in the Rwandan Private sector, and an international organization. Prior to joining FEDA, Alixie worked with the Mastercard Foundation where she helped manage the transition of teams to Africa.
Alixie holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management from the Mount Kenya University Kigali Campus, and is studying for a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Fils Barihe has over ten years’ experience in the ICT industry, working in both the private and NGO sectors. He worked as the Information Technology Officer for five years in Heineken and Oxfam international respectively. Before joining FEDA, Fils was the Senior IT security and Infrastructure Officer at BDF (Business Development Funds).
Fils holds an Advanced Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication from Tumba College of Technology. He also holds a BSc. in Information Technology from the Jomo Kenyatta University.
